Don specializes in the purchase and sale of multifamily, retail, mixed-use and commercial land properties within California.  Baum has participated in over $1 Billion in investment transactions and is a veteran real estate attorney actively licensed in California for 18+ years.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Baum sponsored value-add syndication opportunities as a Principal with Ascent Property Investments.  As the former Assistant General Counsel with the Marcus & Millichap conglomerate of companies, Baum helped incubate, grow and enhance its national brokerage, multifamily investment and development entities, and equity/finance providers.  Baum served as the first General Counsel for Pacific Property Company and began his real estate career with Miller, Starr & Regalia representing financial institutions, national retail property owners and developers in all phases of real estate investment, development and operation. 

Baum brings a wealth of deal-making experience to help clients perform in today’s market.  Applying his institutional experience with entrepreneurial execution, Baum helps investors maximize the value of their real estate participations, developing client-centric acquisition and divestiture strategies that bring results.
